GMAT Analytical Writing Test
Analytical Writing | Verbal | Quantitative
The Analytical Writing Section of the GMAT Test consists of two writing tasks. You will have 30-minutes to complete each writing task. One deals with the Analysis of an Issue and the other with the Analysis of an Argument.
The Writing Section tests your ability to think critically and convey your ideas in writing. Both essays will likely relate to business ideas although no specific knowledge of the topic is necessary.
For the Analysis of an Issue essay, you will need to perform an analysis on the issue and then effectively communicate your point of view. You will need to have a solid grasp on providing examples and state your opinion with reasons why.
For the Analysis of an Argument you will be given a point of view on a topic and will need to critique that argument. This contrasts the previous essay type as you do not need to provide an opinion.
